The ID/OD/OD machine complete with integrated paint and printing is a fully automated five-stage process designed to replace the single operation machines needed to produce a part finished to the same point. It is equipped with magazine loading at the infeed point and the parts are stacked for easy removal at the exit point.
The OD grinders are set up to grind the outside diameter of the brake block. There are two OD grinders. The first unit is the ROUGH grinder. It is used to remove the majority of the excess brake material. The second unit is the FINE grinder. It is used to produce the tight tolerance finished product. Fundamentally both units operate in the same manner. The OD grinder has the ability to grind eccentric as well as parallel blocks on a common fixture. A servo drive system allows the cutters to precisely follow the position of the feed drum to create the desired block dimensions. The block dimensions are entered at the display screen. A RECIPE system has been included to minimize the settings required by the operator.
This machine puts marks on a brake pad, intended to be used as a guide, to indicate when the brake pad is worn out or it should be replaced. It consists of a magazine that feeds a rotating arm which, in turn, pushes the parts through the marking tool.
